(Postmark March 30, 1944 - I have gotten a bit behind in my posts because of a 2-week road trip, but will catch up during the coming week or so.)
Hi Sis:
How are you today? I am fine and dandy. We came back to Haan last Friday and I am sorry I didn’t write sooner. Well after all that good hitting, we got before, we didn’t do any good before the two star General, but that’s usually the way it is. We all felt badly about it. I guess we were all too excited to do any good.
We are still in Haan and haven’t got any idea what we are going to do. We all think we will have to go out to Camp Irwin again. I went out on pass last weekend. Went to L.A. and Ocean Side Park. And had a pretty good time. I have three pictures I am sending, thought you would like them.
Well, Friday is payday that one day in the month we all look forward to. I still have $25 left from last month as did pretty good at the crap games. But not with your dice. I got rid of those long ago. I have been going to the show about every night. I saw Up in Arms last night. I see Bob about every day or two and he is looking pretty good. Well, I guess I will close for this time. Will try to write you again this week. So until then, I will say so long. Be good.
Love,
Bert
P.S. Received your candy today and it is pretty good. At least they boys think so. Also the picture of my gold old Dad.
