This is a story about my Dad, Bruce Dodson. He never would talk much about his time during World War II. Now that he and my Mom have passed, and being their only child, I have had the opportunity to go through all of their mementos. In doing so, I discovered a pile of letters that Dad wrote to his sister during his time in the service. Those letters, coupled with a search of WWII history are the focus of this blog.

An Electric Iron and a Small Angel Food Cake
Post Marked September 7, 1943. Dad seems to be getting into the swing of things with is basic training. He mentions in the letter that he will be doing some additional desert training on larger guns that before. Oh...and an electric iron and a small Angel Food cake wouldn't be bad either!
